Northern NSW-based singer/songwriter Kita Alexander has unveiled her new EP, The One. We caught up with the singer to chat about her return to music, the collection of songs, what 2023 holds and so much more!
Having penned the EP over five years ago, the collection of songs document and navigate life and love in your early twenties, traversing themes of love, heartbreak, loss and finding your feet within the world. Alexander's luring and captivating vocals float above engaging soundscapes, led by ear-worm melodies and introspective lyricism.
The release sees Alexander work with a bevy of talented collaborators including Nick Littlemore, Jono Sloan, Dann Hume, Julia Stone, Jonny Harris, Banan Wiseman, Teddy Geiger, Dan Nigroand Dylan Nash. The singer teamed up with acclaimed producer Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo, Conan Gray) on the title track, co-writing the song prior to his propulsive rise off the back of Olivia Rodrigo's debut album, Sour.
Having made her debut in 2013 Lion Hat, Alexander has accrued over 137 million global streams across her catalogue. The One marks the singers fourth EP, with previous releases featuring the ARIA Gold singles Damage Done and Like You Want To, ARIA Platinum single Between You & I, and the 2x ARIA Platinum single Hotel.
