Australian singer-songwriter Jack Botts has unveiled a new acoustic rendition of his latest song, 18th Floor. Written and recorded in Vancouver last year, the song navigates the highs and hurdles of a long distance relationship. Botts found himself in Vancouver visiting his partner for what should've been a few weeks. A few weeks turned into a few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which gave Botts the time to write and record new music whilst abroad.
The heartwarming and raw track vividly documents the time spent together as travel restrictions began to be enforced. Botts wrote the song prior to making the journey back home, anticipating the whirlwind of emotions that would follow. 18th Floor serves as a reminder that no matter how much time or distance might be between us and our loved ones, everything will be ok.
Beginning his career as a busker in Byron Bay, Botts began playing shows weekly. Soon after, he quit his job to pursue music full-time and hasn't looked back. Having toured with the likes of Tash Sultana, John Floreani and The Pierce Brothers, Botts brings an authentic approach to his songwriting, creating timeless songs that strikes a chord with listeners.
