Rising Auckland artist Will Swinton has unveiled his debut EP, Better Days. We caught up with the musician to chat about the release and more!
Wrapped with warm and stripped back soundscapes, Better Days serves as a documentation of thoughts and emotions surrounding past mistakes, lessons learned, and moving on. Swinton's intimate and introspective lyricism exhibit a lyrical prowess beyond his 22 years, bringing an evocative poetic quality to the collection of songs. His raw and textural vocals captivate atop a genre-blurring palette fuelled by acoustic guitar work that creates a lulling and nostalgic listening experience. Swinton's performance vividly brings storytelling lyricism to life, as he showcases the light and shade of inimitable tone.
Having burst onto the scene last year with his debut single "All For You, the track reached #6 on the Hot 20 NZ Singles Chart and alongside his viral TikTok videos helped earn the musician a legion of fans worldwide. Soon after, Swinton began performing to audiences across the globe, taking to the stage in Auckland, London, Austin for SXSW, Brighton for The Great Escape, Barcelona for Primavera, and most recently at SXSW Sydney.
