Watch our interview with NOT A BOYS NAME
Fresh off the release of his brand new banger, Psychopath, we caught up with our fave Sydney based DIY-pop artist NOT A BOYS NAME. We had a chat about his new single, stepping out from the drum kit and taking centre stage, his live show and so much more!
The musical project of musical mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Dave Jenkins Jr, NOT A BOYS NAME's latest offering is built upon fuzz guitars, frantic drum fills and a heavy bass line, with Jenkins Jr's captivating vocals drawing you into the shimmering synth-pop soundscape. Conceptually, the track was inspired by a run in with a working acquaintance that almost prompted the musician to put away the mic and step away from music. Aren't we glad he didn't!
NOT A BOYS NAME's debut EP, The Internet Sucks, dropped early last year and saw Jenkins Jr collaborate with Simon Berckelman, Kirin J Callinan, Rosie Fitzgerald and Ben Corbett. Psychopath is the latest taste of the musicians sophomore EP, following up his collaboration with Bec Sandridge, Fuck It Up.
