Singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer Johnny Yukon recently dropped his new single, Keys. We caught up with the musician to chat about the track, his creative process, filming in a hot air balloon and so much more!
Written by Yukon and co-produced by the artist alongside Burns (Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, PartyNextDoor), the track explores a darker side of the musician, navigating his own inner thoughts and the want to escape from pain and realty. The songs thematic exploration is represented in its menacing synth lines and hypnotic beats, creating a dynamic and immersive sonic exploration. Alongside the release arrives an official visual, which follows the musician through a desolate land as he attempts to erect a hot air balloon and escape from his troubles.
Having written for the likes of Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, Camila Cabello, and Leon Bridges, Yukon made his debut in 2017 with Laptop, which served as the first taste of his debut album, Installation I. He's collaborated with the likes of G-Eazy, Garrett Nash, KYLE and Burns, before unveiling his sophomore album, Flight Plan 001, last year. With more new music on the horizon, Keys is just the latest in a string of captivating tracks from the musician, who is sure to become your new favourite artist.
