Watch our interview with BOY SODA below!

Emerging Darkingjung/Central Coast artist BOY SODA is keeping the hits coming with his new single, WELCOME TO THE GLOW UP. We caught up with the musician to chat about the release and more.

The musical project of Brae Luafalealo, the musician is blazing the trail for the burgeoning Sydney RnB and Hip-Hop scene, with WELCOME TO THE GLOW UP the latest in a string of strong singles from the musician. Fusing together threads of RnB and electronica, BOY SODA's latest offering is a celebration of how hard work and self-love can lead to a sense of confidence and happiness. The track invited listeners on the singers journey, offering them a place on the ride as BOY SODA continues to rise. The track brings reflective lyricism, with Luafalealo unmatched vocal performances firmly placing himself as one of Australia's most exciting emerging artists.

Luafalealo enlisted director and cinematographer Bailey Watts on the songs official visual, following on from their collaborative efforts on LOVEU2BITS. Whilst original plans for the clip were thwarted due to the recent lockdowns, the playful visual sees the artist showing another side to himself. Juxtaposing the vibrant and highly stylised setting of LOVEU2BITS with darker atmospheric scenes, and made complete with a dancing panda that represents "this almost unhinged and elusive alter ego within my head".

Since making his way onto the scene in 2019, BOY SODA has gone from strength to strength. Having opened for Dominic Fike at the Converse x Camp Flog Gnaw event, the musician has dropped a string of bangers which caught the attention of his new label home, Warner Music Australia. Along with the announcement of his signing, the musician shared LOVEU2BITS, which served as a celebration of love and the time spent with those who matter the most. Luafalealo is currently finalising his debut EP, and if WELCOME TO THE GLOW UP is anything to go buy, it's sure to deliver more fresh hits from the musician.
