INTRODUCING BATTLESNAKE

Watch our interview with Battlesnake below!

Ahead of their performance at Jungle Love Arts and Music Festival, we caught up with Eora/Sydney-based heavy metal seven-piece Battlesnake to chat about the festival, their new single I Am The Vomit, supporting KISS, their collaborative way of working and so much more!

Kicking off this Thursday and running until Sunday 4th September, the festival finds its new leafy home of Jimna in the Somerset Region, bringing together some of Australia's most exciting acts. Joining Battlesnake will be Coodjinburra artist Budjerah, who last year took home the ARIA award for Best Breakthrough Artist, Gold Coast natives Lastlings, Australian rockers from Northeast Arnhem Land King Stingray, Sydney favourites The Lazy Eyes and Brisbane artist Hope D to name a few.

With more local and interstate artists joining, 8 Mile Yacht Club, Boom Boom Soundsystem, Renegade Playground and Love Camp will be proving beats to boogie to throughout the event. Jungle Love will also host an improvisation jam stage, Jambala, and welcomes the brand new 'Dreamland' tent, which will feature everything from Cabaret to aerial performances and comedy to poetry slams.

Just last week, Battlesnake dropped their new single I Am The Vomit, self-produced by the band and mastered by Steve Smart (The Living End, Parkway Drive). Continuing their exploration of lore-infused lyricism and hammering guitar work, the track explores themes of consumption, rebirth and decay. The conceptual song tells the tale of "a hell beast made from vomit that emerges from the dirt on judgement day to consume every naughty boy and girl".

To celebrate the release, the seven-piece will embark on a national headline tour, kicking off this Thursday at Eora/Sydney's Oxford Art Factory. The run of shows will continue on to Duungidjawu/Jimna, Naarm/Melbourne, Wurundjeri/Belgrave, Yugambeh/Burleigh Heads and Meanjin/Brisbane before wrapping up in Jajowurroung/Carisbrook on December 2. Over the weekend, the band supported international metal goliaths KISS on their farewell tour, taking to the stage at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena.
