Rising singer/songwriter Adam Melchor has delivered his debut album, Here Goes Nothing!. We caught up with the musician whilst he was in Sydney to chat about the release, his artistry, opera background and so much more!
Co-produced by the musician alongside Henry Kwapis (Benny Blanco, Dijon), the body of work presents intricately crafted indie-pop soundscapes, unfurling beneath Melchor's ethereal performance driven by mesmerising falsetto work. Introspective and storytelling songwriting flows throughout, as the musician documents a long-distance relationship and it's on-off nature, a thought echoed through the albums curated structure. Across the album, Melchor enlists an illustrious troupe of collaborators, working with Charlie Puth, Lennon Stella, Emily Warren, Andrew Sarlo, and Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold.
Armed with an Opera degree, Melchor made his debut in 2017 with Brook Revisited, which featured on his debut EP The Archer. Since then, the musician has shared a string of singles, a second EP and a mixtape, dubbed the Melchor Lullabye Hotline, Vol 1, earning him over 125 million streams to date. Having just toured Australia supporting Jeremy Zucker on his national tour, Melchor is currently embarking on a sold-out North American tour, supporting Noah Kahan, before embarking on his own headline tour early next year.
