Having been hailed as one to watch throughout 2020, UK musician Griff is kicking off 2021 with the release of her stellar new track, Black Hole.
The dark pop track is all about a bittersweet heartbreak, set to a pounding soundscape that allows the singers vocals to float into the stratosphere. Weaving in moments of clarity with epic melodramatic lyricism, Black Hole marks a strong release from an artist who has her eyes set on greatness.
Speaking of the track, the singer shares: “I wrote this song as a bittersweet heartbreak track,” says the multi-hyphenated singer, producer, and DIY fashion designer. “I actually love how melodramatic it is, as there’s obviously not ‘a big black hole where my heart used to be,’ but the melodrama of the lyrics – over a really interesting beat – keeps the song fun, and not too serious.”
Having begun her musical journey by creating music on Logic, the singer taught herself to produce songs, keeping her musical endeavours a secret from her classmates. Griff has amassed herself a loyal following already, with superstar Taylor Swift praising the singers rendition Exile with Maisie Peters. The musicians song Love Is A Compass featured in Disney’s record-breaking Christmas campaign, a heartwarming visual seen all over the globe. If that wasn't enough, she also just took over London's iconic Tate Modern to perform a stunning live set from The Tate Tanks.
Black Hole is out now! Listen to the song below.
