GREATEST HITS TOP FIVE 'PALM SPRING VIBES' DESTINATIONS

“Greatest Hits have never been to Palm Springs”

Australian/English band Greatest Hits have unveiled their breezy new track, Palm Springs, set to feature on their sophomore EP. The three-piece will also be hitting the road on their debut headline tour, making stops in Brisbane, Sydney, Mona Vale, Wollongong and Melbourne.

Known for its vibrant hotels, golfing, wind turbines, Coachella, desserts and 1950's movie stars, Palm Springs is synonymous with money and success. Greatest Hits have never been there (maybe they never will), but here are 5 places Greatest Hits have been that could (on the right day), feel a bit like money and success.

MAJORCA, SPAIN

If Palm Springs is the playground of the rich and famous, Majorca is the People’s Playground. Everyone is welcome and everyone has thrown their (possibly) fake Gucci sliders aside to let their feet see the sun for the first time in 2 years. It’s magic. Are the noses red from too much wine or too much sun? Who knows and who cares.

HONOLULU, HAWAII

The perfect cliche - that’s what makes it so good - It’s cheesy and wonderfully so. Overpriced and beautiful, you will suddenly be overcome come by the desire to buy a frangipani lei from a man on the street in a Hawaiian shirt. ABC stores on every corner sell everything you could ever want or need at 15 times the price. It’s all balanced out by stunning beaches, mountains, and those perfectly balmy evenings. If you don’t come home with a coconut bra and a shirt saying ‘I got Lei’d in Hawaii’ did you even go?

ALGARVE, PORTUGAL

this is the closest thing (according to Google) to actual Palm Springs that we’ve been to. It has the perfect cultural mix of coast and desert, with an abundance of great food and drink. We recommend Pastel de nata’s at least 3 times a day.

LAKE COMO, ITALY

The food is amazing, the sun is amazing, and it is close to Switzerland, which is also amazing. George Clooney lives there - say no more.

ENGLISH TOWN MASH-UP

England has nothing remotely like Palm Springs… So to get that ‘Palm Springs’ feeling, you will have to hit multiple locations, throughout the year. Starting in February, it’s off to the Peak District (because you couldn’t make the ski season at Val Thorens again!). As soon as it hits mid April, pick up a M&S salad in Blackheath - the weather is warm, but it’s still raining. You’ll finish it up on the first weekend of May, sitting by the Ottley River, with a glass of Lambrini.

Palm Springs is out now! Watch the music video below.
