Melbourne-based singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Fractures has dropped his new single, Velvet. The track will join his previous single Raspberries and appear on the artists forthcoming EP Summer, due out this November.
Bringing a summery zest to the track, the feel-good sonics of the release is juxtaposed by vulnerable and introspective lyricism that explores the demise and relationship aftermath.
Speaking of the track, the musician shares: "Velvet was one of my earlier forays into more lush, or warm sounding sampling. For me, warmth equals sun, sun equals summer, and off I go. It’s a song about a relationship that’s faltered, ended and we're in the aftermath. In essence, it’s saying it was for the best. Not everything has to last. A no hard feelings type of situation, almost a consolation. That it’s always an uneven process."
Velvet is out now! Listen to the track below.
