Perth’s Young Robin recently dropped their fourth EP, Imago. To celebrate the release, the band have shared with MILKY five things they learnt whilst making the EP!

“In the EP each song shared a similar sentiment to an extent, and that sentiment was growth,” shares frontman Jed Begho. “Mainly the mental, emotional and spiritual growth from a state of adolescence (meaning not physically, but adolescence in the sense of mental innocence, emotional immaturity and spiritual deficiency) to the reality of adulthood which came through heartbreak and the struggles of life, and finally finding peace and contentment through faith. Because the spiritual growth aspect was the core component of my journey which led to my mental and emotional growth.”

Without further adieu, here are five things Young Robin learnt whilst making Imago...

ONE

Sometimes if you’re unsure of a certain part in the song you’re working on, even the smallest tweak can change that whole part and make it something you really enjoy and vibe!

TWO

Studio magic is sometimes intentional but a lot of the secret sauce is exhaustion, silliness, and happy accidents also!

THREE

"You can do a lot more than you think you can” quote by Jarred.

FOUR

It's always good to try new things even if you don’t know the end product. Sometimes the things you least expect end up becoming the sound you like the most.

FIVE

It makes such a big difference to work with a producer that just gets you on the same level. There are a lot of talented and amazing producers out there, but finding the right one can be an interesting journey sometimes. We’ve been working with Parko for a while now and he just helps make our music even better!

Imago is out now! Listen to the song below.
