Academy and GRAMMY® Award-winning musician, songwriter and producer FINNEAS has revealed his new single, Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa. The songs home-video style visual is made up of clips of the musician and his partner, actress Claudia Sulewski, who also serves as the music videos director.
“The artwork is a painting by the incredible Gus Van Sant that he gave me before he even knew I had a song named after the Mona Lisa. So cool and such an honor to have this piece of art as the cover for my song.” FINNEAS shares of the singles artwork. a painting inspired by the Leonardo Da Vinci masterpiece gifted to the musician from film director Gus Van Sant.
Last year, the musician shared his long-awaited debut record, Optimist.
Written and produced entirely by FINNEAS, the collection of songs traverse love, heartbreak and the human existence, documenting the musicians own interest in "people and their idiosyncrasies." He further adds of the conceptual nature of the record, "It’s hard for me not to focus on them or notice. At the end of the day, I’m just observant.”
Having won eight GRAMMY Awards® for his work with sister Billie Eilish, FINNEAS turned his focus to composing, scoring the scored the music for the drama The Fallout and creating the original score for the upcoming new comedy thriller Vengeance. The directorial debut of B.J. Novak (The Office, The Premise) and stars Novak himself, alongside Issa Rae, Ashton Kutcher, Boyd Holbrook, J. Smith-Cameron, and Dove Cameron. Vengeance will be released in theaters nationwide on 29 July, 2022, by Focus Features.
