EVAN KLAR UNVEILS LIVE AND INTIMATE RENDITION OF 'ILLUSIONS'

Melbourne songwriter and producer Evan Klar has recorded a new version of his latest single, Illusions. Stripped back to guitar, piano and vocals, the song captures the introspective and emotional lyrical content of the track in a new light, presenting a vulnerable performance recorded at Grönland Records.

Set to feature on the musicians forthcoming EP, Illusions conceptually finds Klar in search of happiness through self-confession. Feeling like a hidden gem from a Post Malone record, Illusions places the musicians vocals on centre stage, captivating listeners whilst he blurs the lines between singing and rapping.

Born in Perth, raised in Singapore and now residing between Berlin and Melbourne, the self-confessed pop addict spends all his time producing music for both himself and other artists. With his finger on the pulse, this year has seen Evan work with a new wave of Australian indie-pop artists including Ainslie Wills, Mallrat, Tyne James-Organ, Essie Holt and Alice Ivy.

Klar recently co-wrote and produced Kate Miller-Heidke’s album Child In Reverse at Fall Back Studios in Melbourne, a studio which he built with his brother, Daniel Niedermeyer. Evan's recent collaborations include Tobias Kuhn (Milky Chance), Konstantin Kersting (Tones & I), Hailey Collier (David Guetta), Roy Kerr (London Grammar) and many more.
