Nashville-born artist Dylan Dunn has delivered his woozy new single, Seasick On The Ground. The release arrives alongside an official visual, capturing the nostalgia-fuelled energy of the song.
Produced by Adam Castilla (The Colourist), the track places Dunn's smooth and luring vocals above magnetic guitar work and ear-worm synth melodies. Conversational lyricism flows throughout, as the musician explores growing out of a friendship following a change in behaviour from a former friend. The juxtaposition of the tracks more sombre lyricism with bright sonics allows for a mesmerising listening experience.
“The sad nature of the lyrics intertwined with the upbeat melody work to create this dizzy feeling of disconnection,” the musician shares. “The combo pulls the whole thing together.”
Influenced by the likes of The Beatles, Queen, Electric Light Orchestra, music runs within his ancestry, with Dunn's uncle, Donald “Duck” Dunn, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® as part of Booker T. & the M.G.’s. His uncle gifted him a guitar at a young age, sparking his own love and passion for music. Last year, Dunn released his debut EP, Blue Like You, with Seasick On The Ground serving as the latest taste of his forthcoming sophomore effort.
