Aussie legends DMA's have treated fans with new music today. surprise dropping their new EP, I Love You Unconditionally, Sure Am Going To Miss You. The four-track release follows on from the trios AIR Award winning, critically-acclaimed third album THE GLOW.
Heralded by the single We Are Midnight, the release is a welcomed return to the bands rock roots, bringing their signature nostalgic sonics to the EP. The release is a tribute and love letter to the bands committed fanbase, and their appreciation for the genre that catapulted them to worldwide acclaim.
“We Are Midnight is a noisy guitar pop explosion which brings us back to our roots. In writing the track we felt all the melodic parts were strong but structuring it properly to make the most out of the song was the hardest part. By self-producing this EP, we had to take more control of aspects such as this and seeing growth in this facet of our song writing makes us proud to share it with you today :)” Johnny Took says of the track.
Having just been nominated for 3 x AIR Awards (Independent Album Of The Year, Best Independent Rock Album, Best Independent Dance, Electronica Or Club Single for ‘Criminals (The Avalanches Remix’)) in addition to their 3 x top #10 ARIA albums, 9 x ARIA-nominations, and multiple ARIA Platinum and ARIA Gold, THE GLOW continues to be one of the bands most iconic releases. THE GLOW was recorded at the historic Westlake Recording Studios in Hollywood and mixed by multi-Grammy Award winning producer Stuart Price, famously known for working with The Killers, New Order and Madonna to name a few.
The three-piece will return to Aussie stages later this year, marking their first run of shows since their Unplugged & Intimate residency in Sydney last year. Kicking off in Adelaide on September 24, the tour will continue on to Fremantle, Brisbane and Melbourne, before wrapping up with a hometown show in Sydney on October 9.
The EP is available in a number of formats, a limited-edition Blue Truman 12” vinyl, named after Took's Blue Staffy, which is set to arrive on October 8
