Last week, Perth-based indie-pop quartet COTERIE dropped their new single, Cool It Down. To celebrate the release, the band have shared with MILKY what is on their dream rider!
“We caught it all when we korero, now I’m longing for the sweet shores of Aotearoa’ - this lyric sums it up, Aotearoa is our home but so is West Coast Drive, and as long as we have these coastlines, we know we’re all good!” explains frontman Tyler Fisher.
He adds of the visual, filmed, directed and edited by Sarah Haleem: “The concept of this entire video was to give people a glimpse into our lives. Where we live, the culture, the things we love! You’ll see the waters of West Coast Drive, the moments from our shows on tour and the shots of us writing, driving and chilling.”
VINYL & INCENSE
It’s all about filling the room with that good energy. Light up a couple incense & take us straight to the coasts of Canggu, Bali. Then, add that vinyl from whichever artist or band we’re vibing at the time, and that’s the mood.

GUITARS & PIANO
One of our favourite local venues to play is the iconic Freo Social. It’s a big vibe and backstage is even more so, it’s where every band & artist writes their name on the wall in that golden pen, and at some point, plays the creaky out-of-tune piano in the corner. But for us, the pre-show is one of the most creative windows of time and that creaky old piano along with my trusty Gretsch have birthing place of many songs that we now play every show.

Moments are fleeting, and we have the best job in the world, so we try capture as much of it as we can. The Fuji Film was the perfect camera for us! It’s got a vintage feel and look to it, and it’s super easy to use. Perfect.
JALAPEÑO POPPERS, A SHOT OF TEQUILA & A SUGAR DOUSED LEMON
The final frontier! This is a new one, but it’s a goodie. Nothing gets the blood flowing quicker than a jalapeño popper washed down with a shot tequila and closed by a sweetened slice lemon! That’ll have you sprinting on stage ready for the show of your life! You can thank us later!
