Catch Cassettes For Kids live at Red Bull Melbourne Unlocked this Sunday!

Kicking off tonight, Red Bull Melbourne Unlocked is set to take over Melbourne all weekend-long. To get you ready for the festivities, Cassettes For Kids has treated us with a guide to Melbourne's most iconic dancefloors.
The free weekend-long event will see Cassettes For Kids, Tornado Wallace, Nina Las Vegas, RVG, Elsy Wameyo, Akosia, Floodlights and more will be taking over, with local nightspots like Laundry Bar, Yah Yah’s, Electric Bar, Pawn & Co and Glamorama set to host Hip Hop & Rap pop up club with Pawn & Co, 29th Apartment and Storyville housing an indoor boat party. A mini Palais Theatre will host all the antics of Chasers Nightclub, with POOF DOOF, Yah Yah’s and more getting involved.
I OH YOU are set to provide tonights live music entertainment, with a DJ set from Amyl & The Sniffers, performances from CLAMM, Floodlights, Romero and RVG. I OH YOU’s Johann Ponniah says on the event, “We’re stoked to have the opportunity to bring so many of our favourite Victorian artists to Melbourne Unlocked, should be a ripper!”
On Saturday, Akosia, Elsy Wameyo, DJ Kalyani and Tornado Wallace will bring the vibes thanks to WAT Artists. “WAT Artists is excited to be a collaborator alongside other Melbourne nightlife staples, the timing couldn’t be better for Unlocked as the city opens back up again!” Director of WAT Artists, James Ware shares. Untitled Group will see out the event on the Sunday night, with sets from Cassettes For Kids, Foura, Nina Las Vegas and Sam Alfred.

SUB CLUB, MELBOURNE
Hot, sweaty, underground. If you want to get lost in the belly of good sound, a great crowd and be allowed your best chance at disconnecting from the throes of life, this is your best bet. I just recently saw Bradley Zero and C.Frim go b2b at the Rhythm Section party back in January and I had one of the best nights out post lockdown.

Open roof, local talent, LEVELS. Pardon the Kramer'ism, but I'm a sucker for levels. Heavily laden in nostalgia for me, I've seen a host of incredible, locally run events sporting our amazing local DJ's and international acts over the years. One memorable moment was going there alone to see DJ Seinfeld around 2017 and jumping up to dance on a speaker after he dropped ' Mall Grab - I've Always Liked Grime'
YARRA BEND, KEW
One of the not-so-secret spots for a park party, Yarra Bend has been the place for countless parties over the years. Given the enormous expanse of space, seclusion from residents and the sheer beauty, the location makes for the perfect backdrop to a rave. As long as the crowd is chilled and the music isn't too loud, you're free to play to your hearts content. I heard Objekt's 'CLK Recovery' for the first time at one of these raves and it was uh... life changing?
FAIRFIELD AMPHITHEATRE, FAIRFIELD
Located along the Yarra River is an amphitheatre right next to the Fairfield Boathouse. Perfect for a day party, everything from the walk over to the 10 level bluestone steps sets the scene for what's on for the day. I hosted my first event there at the start of 2021 with Bertie, Pretty Girl and Suki and it was one of the funnest gigs and days EVER.
COLLINGWOOD CHILDREN'S FARM, ABBOTSFORD
As you might have picked, I'm a fan of the open air gigs and The CCF makes it onto my list for a myriad of reasons, namely the scenery, the walk to the venue and the wildlife (peacocks, lizards, chickens, cows, horses etc.). It's tucked into this lucious leafy spot in the inner city near Kew and Abbotsford which feels like you've been transported to the middle of the bush. Loure and I hosted a show there back in January which was an incredible experience despite the unrelenting weather and we couldn't have been more grateful to host it on such pristine land.
