Multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Calum Scott has treated fans with a new taste of his sophomore album, with his new single Rise. Due out next year, the record follows up the singers acclaimed 2018 debut Only Human.
Produced by Gabe Simon and Jon Maguire, the anthemic track shares an empowering message to push through the hard times and live life on your own terms. Built upon pounding drums and powerful harmonies, Rise continues Scott's run of emotive releases.
Speaking of the track, Scott shares: “We’ve all faced it during our lifetimes: feeling demotivated or uninspired, feeling like life is out to get you, that it’s easier to stay on the ground when life throws its punches. I wanted to write a song that would empower people to chase down their dreams and to try to embrace life, no matter what they are going through or what their circumstances. We all have the opportunity to do it our way, to put our best foot forward and to rise.”
Last month, the singer shared a new visual for his single Biblical, an American Sign Language (ASL) version of the track created in collaboration with the Tony Award®-winning Deaf West Theatre. The stunning black-and-white visual is a powerful moment from the U.K.-based artist and several performers, capturing the raw emotion of the track, which is an ode to unconditional life.
Rise is out now! Listen to the song below.
