Watch our interview with Bugs frontman Connor Brooker below!
Queensland based trio Bugs are currently embarking on a mammoth national tour, in support of their studio album, Cooties. We caught up with frontman Connor Brooker to chat about the run of shows, their latest body of work and so much more!
Across the body of work, Brooker offer an introspective analysis of emotions and a assessment of his own psyche and decisions. Navigating relationships and finding your own place in the world, the album brings uplifting sonics that juxtaposes the more serious lyrical content, reminding listeners to keep a positive attitude through life's harder moments and to keep working on yourself.
Recorded and produced by drummer Brock Weston at his home studio in Brisbane, the cathartic release was whittled down from 30 songs to the succinct 10-track body of work we hear today. The record brings the bands rock-infused pop sensibilities to another level, meandering between moments that will have you on your feet and dancing, and more relaxed soundscapes that provide space for thought. Brooker's engaging performance shines across the body of work, bringing a lively energy to the albums lyrical nature.
Having already played in Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Launceston, Bugs will take to the stage in Hobart tonight, before continuing on to Geelong, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Scarborough. Following a short break, the band will wrap up the run of shows with performances on the Gold Coast, Maroochydore and Brisbane this July. Tickets are on sale now!
