BOY SODA has treated us to the release of his debut mixtape, YC-TAPE: Vol. 1. To celebrate the release, the musician is taking us through the mixtape track-by-track and shared the five mixtapes that have had a profound influence on his own artistry.
Tapping producers Finbar, Club Angel, Jarryd James, Lvther, Lovemedo and Tentendo, the genre-blurring body of work brings together ten tracks drip-released throughout December to form one larger body of work. Effortlessly weaving together threads of R&B, hip-hop, G-Funk, soul and pop, the project showcases the musicians hybrid approach to creating and his prowess as both a songwriter and performer.
Since making his way onto the scene in 2019, BOY SODA has gone from strength to strength. Having opened for Dominic Fike at the Converse x Camp Flog Gnaw event, the musician has dropped a string of bangers which caught the attention of his new label home, Warner Music Australia. Since his signing, the musician has released a string of singles and earlier this year delivered his debut EP, THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THINKING AND FEELING.
