Global superstar Billie Eilish makes her return today with her new single, my future.
The track continues Eilish’s collaborative process with her brother, and producer, FINNEAS. Written and recorded in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic, the track is a contemplation of what’s ahead for the singer, signalling in a new era of her career. The track includes smooth guitar riffs over a jazzy R&B beat paired with Eilish’s mesmerising vocals, reminiscent of the legendary Amy Winehouse.
In an email sent to her fans today, Billie said: "we wrote this at the very beginning of quarantine. it’s a song that’s really really personal and special to me. when we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at - hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth. but recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. i hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves."
The beautiful track is accompanied by en equally breathtaking animated music video, created by Australian Artist Andrew Onorato.
