BEN LEE: "WHAT MAKES YOUR PARENTS GET HIGH?"

Australian indie-pop singer-songwriter Ben Lee has shared his new single Parents Get High, taken from his forthcoming seventeenth studio album, I'M FUN!. We caught up with the musician to chat about the release, the songs star studded visual, his forthcoming national tour and so much more!


Across the indie-pop track, Lee recalls on childhood moments witnessing his parents social lives and their altered consciousness, and why adults behave the way they do. The songs visual features of a slew of guests, with the musician enlisting Abbie Chatfield, Thelma Plum, Megan Washington, Darren Hayes, Emily Wurramara, Wil Anderson, Tilly Lawless, Georgia Maq, Margaret Cho, Cameron James, Ione Skye, Di Faeta, Adam Green, Safy Hallan-Farah, Money Mark Nishita, Zeppelin Hamilton and his parents Paul Scheer and Lauren Lapkus.



The Parents Get High Tour will mark Lee's first live shows in over a year, kicking off in St Kilda on June 17. Continuing on to Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide, the run of shows will come to a conclusion in Fremantle on June 25. Tickets are on sale now!


Following years of paving the way as an independent artist, the musician signed an international deal with Warner Music last year, who will release his forthcoming album, I’M FUN!. Made remotely, Lee enlisted a number of producers on the record, including Jon Brion, Shamir, Sadie Dupuis and Darren Seltmann and guests Zooey Deschanel, Christian Lee Hutson, Money Mark (Beastie Boys), Megan Washington, Georgia Maq and Eric D Johnson.
