Melbourne-via-Wellington four-piece Bakers Eddy are ushering in a new era, dropping their new track 21. Produced by Oscar Dawson the song will be launched with a handful of shows across Victoria this month.
Conceptually exploring the juncture between growing up and and holding on to your youthful experiences, 21 brings the bands signature zest, creating a mass sing-a-long chorus over a shimmering indie-rock soundscape. Front man Ciarann Babbington shares: “To me it symbolises the shift from teenage innocence to adult ‘bullshit’ and all the fear, excitement and uncertainty that goes with a major change like that.”
2020 saw the four-piece drop your new favourite Christmas banger, A Verry Merry Christmas, which followed on from their track, T-Shirt. After being force to cancel their plans last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bakers Eddy spent their time working hard away on recording their highly anticipated debut album, due out this year.
21 is out now! Listen to the song below.
