Melbourne-based pop singer ASHWARYA shared the visual for her latest single, FLARE. The track serves as the first taste of new music since her superb debut EP, Nocturnal Hours.
Directed by Charles Buxton-Leslie, the nostalgia fuelled VHS visual brings a dreamy quality, with the singer donning an upcycled piece from Naarm based designer Jaida the Creator.
“I feel like the video for FLARE perfectly encapsulates that dream-like feeling in the song with a lil splash of drama and tension.” says ASHWARYA of her latest video. Expanding on the track, she shares: “FLARE is about the tension that plays out between not knowing if someone likes you back and searching for their signal. It traverses between holding back your emotions or fully letting go of them to show them how much they mean to you. It's tricky because it can become a fickle game, and eventually, you're longing to feel loved regardless, but 'I'm in too deep' to realise.”
FLARE is out now! Watch the visual below.
