Sydney-based artist Arky Waters has delivered his first release of the year with Dark and Emerald. The musical project of Thomson Phan, the musician continues to push the boundaries of his sonic exploration, distancing his solo endeavours from his work with alt-rock band Silvers.

Opening with glitchy and frantic production, we're introduced to Phan's captivating and robust vocals, as he explores the emotionless state that can follow heartbreak. The release weaves together subtle notes of UK bass, hip-hop beats and pop sensibilities, creating an experimental sonic exploration that will keep you on your toes.

“I feel my confidence growing as an artist - particularly on the producing front. There’s a great sense of freedom in my work now, I feel like it’s particularly clear in this track.” the musician shares.

Throughout the project, Phan hopes to further his interest in creating wave music, showcasing up another sonic side of his musical exploration. With a number of singles under his belt, including a collaboration with Uraye, Dark and Emerald follows up the musicians 2021 single Chetty Chetty Bang Bang, this is just the beginning for Arky Waters.
