5 THINGS TOBY MOBBS IS MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ABOUT TOURING

Placid In The Rough is out now!

Albury based pop-folk singer-songwriter, Toby Mobbs is hitting the road in support of his debut album, Placid In The Rough. Ahead of the tour, the musician has shared with MILKY what he's most looking forward to about hitting the road!

Across the body of work, introspective and conversational lyricism flows, as the musician captures life's everyday moments. Effortlessly weaving together threads of pop, folk and soft-rock, Mobbs' raspy vocals float above warm and nostalgia-fuelled soundscapes.

Kicking off in Wagga Wagga on October 5, the extensive run of shows will continue on to Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Hobart, before wrapping up with a hometown show in Albury-Wodonga on November 6. Tickets are on sale now!

DEBUT ALBUM

Primarily, this tour is to promote my debut album Placid In The Rough. I’m very keen to

share it with new audiences and tell the stories behind the music to intimate crowds.

For old school music fans, I’ll also be selling copies on vinyl and CD with all money going

into my petrol tank.

NEW SIGHTS

My last attempts to get to Perth, Darwin, and Hobart were thwarted by border

restrictions. Things were changing so quickly that last year that when I got to the WA/SA

border some 2000km from home I had to turn straight back, cancel a week of shows,

and drive back to Albury. I’ve still never been to Perth or Darwin and it’s been a long

time since I’ve been in Tassie so I’m looking forward to seeing more of Australia.

MUSICAL FRIENDS

Each of my eight capital cities and two regional shows of the tour I’ll be supported by a

different local artist, many of which feature on my album. I’m thankful to call them

friends and many I’ve not seen in quite a while. They’re all brilliant and a great chance

for a catchup, even better that it’s on stage with me.

TOUR DIARY

I’ll be documenting my travels and putting together a video diary after I get back home. I

did one back in 2020 for my Making Lemonade Regional Tour as a test (you can find it on

YouTube). I’m not much of a videographer but editing it all together is a lot of fun.

HAVING DONE IT

As an independent artist, playing a national ticketed tour without the backing of a

promotor, booking agent, or label is quite challenging, but I didn’t want that to be any

reason for it to stop me. Doing a tour like this is something I am compelled to do and I

want to look back and know I gave it everything I had. I hope to see you at a show.
