I Love You is out now!

Punk-rock outfit TEEN JESUS AND THE JEAN TEASERS have unveiled their hotly-anticipated debut album I Love You. To celebrate the release, the band have shared with MILKY five things they learnt whilst making the body of work.

“Every time one of us would get a little bit antsy, we’d have to be like, “It’s okay! It’s fine!”” guitarist Scarlett McKahey says. “Being non-males in the industry, and because we’re all quite young as well, we all feel the need to prove ourselves a lot. In other recording sessions, everyone we have recorded with has been amazing...if I didn’t get something in the first take, I’d be embarrassed, because I felt like I needed to prove that I deserved a spot in this industry. This time, we had to totally trust the process and know that it’s not a reflection on you if you don’t get it done.”

Currently supporting DMA's on their national tour, TEEN JESUS AND THE JEAN TEASERS will embark on their own headline tour kicking off at The Triffid in Meanjin/Brisbane on October 27. The run of shows will continue on to Tarndanya/Adelaide, Naarm/Melbourne, Wadandi Boodja/Margaret River and Walyalup/Fremantle, before wrapping up in Eora/Sydney at the Metro Theatre on November 17. The band will then support legendary rockers, Foo Fighters, at AAMI Stadium in Naarm/Melbourne on December 14. Tickets are on sale now!

Always have snacks handy whilst recording. We’re talking chips, dip, carrot sticks, chocolate, multiple different types of berries, and an ungodly amount of tea

A dog MUST be on site at all times, for morale of course. If a dog is not present the album will not be nearly as good.

Always try new ideas even if they sound crazy! Some of our favourite parts were born from ideas we didn’t think would work. (But note, try not to get stuck on the same idea for a part for 6 hours, only to listen back the next day and decide the original part was better)

Trust the process. Making an album is no small feat but if you put your heart into it and keep on working at it, eventually it all falls into place .

Making an album with your best friends is one of the best things you’ll ever do! It’s something we’ll be proud of forever and will be able to treasure for our whole lives. Highly recommend!
