UK-based indie rock band Sea Girls will hit our shores next week for their Australian tour, following the release of their latest single I Want You To Know Me. To celebrate, the band have shared with MILKY five quintessentially Australian things sea girls are excited to experience on their first ever tour down under.

Kicking off at Sydney's Oxford Arts Factory on January 24, the run of shows will continue on to Melbourne's Corner Hotel on January 25, before wrapping up at Brisbane's The Zoo on January 28. Tickets are on sale now!

AUSSIE COFFEE CULTURE

We’re all big coffee fans and the first thing we always do in a new city is find the fancy coffee place. It sounds like Australia is teeming with these so we can can’t wait to replace our blood with good coffee. We take our coffee in a range of ways and we’re always up for trying something new!

EAT LOADS OF TIM TAMS

Andrew used to eat these a lot when he lived in Indonesia and has told us how great they are. Most of us are Tim Tam virgins so we can’t wait to be baptised and get stuck in.

BE ATTACHED BY A MAGPIE SWARM.

Our magpies are relatively benign so this is a bit of a surprise. We've heard that you get dive bombed as you are walking down the street and you don't see it coming! You some times see people hanging CDs to keep birds away, maybe we will try and make a cd hat? (Only Sea Girls albums of course)

AUSSIE RULES FOOTBALL!

We don't follow ozzy rules but it looks wild! A guy on a podcast Andrew listens to supports St Kilda's so we’re going to say that’s our favourite team. Plus the saints are the name of the team Andrew supports in the U.K.!

SUNBURN IN JANUARY

It’s going to be pretty cold in the U.K. when we leave so I think we’re in for a shock with the weather. On the plus side I can wear all the shirts I bought at the end of this summer but on the negative I burn very easily! Our tour is very whistle stop but hopefully we’re going to get enough time to check out the awesome beaches.

I Want You To Know Me is out now!
