BADBOI is out now!

Australian-born, Brooklyn-based artist BRUX has teamed up with collaborator Pat Lok on her new single, BADBOI. To celebrate the release, the singer has shared with MILKY ten songs she wishes she had produced!

“It happened pretty quickly - we had been working on a few other house / disco tracks and then on this day I wanted us to channel some early Ed Banger releases,” she explains. “The most exciting elements for me in this track are the chopped up vocals that Pat made and the percussive groove I recorded - it gives it so much urgency and life.” Brux shares.

“This record is pure raw energy and chaos, a song for a time where many people have lost their way and need to express their emotions uninhibited. If metal was a dance tune it would be this.”

HEY BOY HEY GIRL - THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS

An absolute classic by these dance music legends. I've been inspired by them since I was 5 years old and I still am to this day !

PASS THAT DUTCH - MISSY ELLIOTT

Timbaland is one of my favourite producers & Missy one of my favourite boundary-pushing artists. This track has so much ear candy & I'm obsessed with the drum groove and sounds.

DON'T STOP TIL YOU GET ENOUGH - MICHAEL JACKSON

Quincy Jones can do no wrong...my favourite track he produced of MJ's! Such great drums.

UNRAVEL - BJÖRK

Unravel is such a mesmerising piece for me and the production is refined and so beautiful. It brings up so much emotion every time I listen to it

BIG JEFF - JOE FARR

A slamming techno thumper from underground UK artist Joe Farr, I love to play this one in my DJ sets...

TURN OFF THE LIGHTS - DOG BLOOD, SKRILLEX, BOYS NOIZE

What a collab! The frenetic energy in this track and the crazy cut up sampling is mega inspiring. That whole EP this is off is insane

GARDEN - TOTALLY ENORMOUS EXTINCT DINOSAURS

The track that introduced me to the world of TEED 10 years ago...so clean and flawless - seeing this played live at a heaving, sweaty Sydney Oxford Arts Factory show that same year in 2012 was something I'll never forget.

LIKE A PEN - THE KNIFE

The Knife are up there with the Chemical Brothers as one of my all time favourite artists - this track in particular just hits a certain way. It's so dark & fun, great video clip too.

BECAUSE - SMERZ

Effortlessly sexy & cool...goddamn I wish I produced this one.

FUCK THE PAIN AWAY - PEACHES

A Peaches classic! First heard this in the film Lost In Translation almost a decade ago & loved it instantly - the rawness, grit and attitude. Peaches is a big influence on my writing.
