Warner Music Australia have announced their global partnership with Purple Phase, a new label run by brothers Zaac, Sam and Elliott Margin from the platinum selling group The Rubens, and their managers Greg Carey and Michael Ridgewell.. Alongside the announcement comes the news of the labels first official signing, Wollongong musician Stevan.
Treating us to the first taste of his forthcoming EP, Stevan's new single Crash sees the musician team up with Tommy Richman, delivering a dynamic cut that will be ringing in your head for days. The bouncy release is built upon infectious production documents the desire to be romantically involved with someone, and is accompanied by an official visual directed by Christopher Kidallpark.
“Crash is probably the most excited I’ve ever been for a release. I feel like it reflects my personality 100%, and artistically it’s the most free I’ve felt too. It’s a great start to my partnership with Purple Phase. I think our relationship is more like a family, as opposed to your traditional artist/label dynamic. I can tell just how much they care about me and my vision, which makes me feel so confident in my ideas, and fortunate to be around people who believe in me this much. It’s an official takeover!”
To celebrate the release, Stevan is hitting the road for a number of launch shows. Kicking off in Wollongong on August 28, the tour will continue on to Camden, Sydney and Melbourne, before wrapping up with a set at Unwind In The Vines Festival in Gerringong on October 1. The musician is also set to take to the stage at Splendour In The Grass Festival in Byron Bay next weekend.
