Music superstar Miley Cyrus has finally announced the release of her new single, Midnight Sky.
Teasing the song on an Instagram live stream earlier this week, the disco-inspired track is set to be the lead single for Cyrus’ upcoming seventh studio album, She Is Miley Cyrus.
The track comes after Miley dropped her critically acclaimed EP, She Is Coming, in May last year. The release was set to be followed up by two more EP’s titled She Is Here and She Is Everything. However, due to changes in her personal life, Cyrus went back to the studio to work on new music. Together, the three releases would make up Cyrus’ seventh studio album She Is Miley Cyrus.
While it is unclear if Cyrus plans to continue her planned three EP rollout, fans have rejoiced as Miley took to social media to inform fans: "I know it feels like you’ve been waiting forever and ever .... but no more..... She is finally here. My new single MIDNIGHT SKY. AUGUST 14th. PRE SAVE NOW.”
On She Is Coming, Cyrus collaborated with RuPaul, Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan and Swae Lee. The album is set to feature collaborations with producers producers including Mark Ronson, Mike Will Made It and Andrew Wyatt, all of whom Cyrus has previously worked with, and Miike Snow.
Cyrus has shared a snippet of Midnight Sky on Instagram’s new Reels feature, where fans can create videos to share with their followers. A 15 second snippet of the track can be used.
