Watch our interview with Maisie Peters below!
British artist Maisie Peters has offered up another taste of her sophomore album, The Good Witch, with the release of Lost The Breakup. The singer has today shared an official visual for the song, directed by Mia Barnes and filmed on location in Japan.
Produced by Oscar Görres, the confident cut finds Peters reflecting on a former flame and reminding them of what they've lost. Laced with ear-worm melodies and striking lyricism, the track is just the latest in a string of engaging tracks from the singer, following up Body Better. “If Body Better was me at my lowest, Lost The Breakup was me clawing my way back up and out”, Maisie shares. “It feels like dressing up in sequins and going to a party with your best friends, like cheap champagne and smudged lipstick and burgers on the floor at 3am. It’s a manifestation song and maybe if you sing it, it will come true (it did for me)”.
In 2021, the singer unveiled her debut album, You Signed Up For This. Having signed to Ed Sheeran's Gingerbread Man Records, Peters teamed up with Sheeran and Steve Mac on the albums single, Psycho. You Signed Up For This further cemented Peters' skills as a songwriter first and foremost, as she navigates the transitional period from adolescence to adulthood.
This past February, Peters visited Australia for her debut performances on our shores. The singer supported global superstar Ed Sheeran on his national + - = ÷ x Tour, playing stadiums in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, as well as hosting sold-out headline shows in Byron Bay, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
The Good Witch is out June 16. Watch the visual below!
