South-coast based artist ioakim is keeping the hits coming with his new single, mona lisa. The release arrives alongside an official visual, created by the musician himself in his childhood bedroom.
Effortlessly weaving together sonic threads of brit-pop and indie-rock, ioakim co-produced the track with Malcolm Besley, taking us further into the genre-blurring realm the musician is building with each release. Laced with nostalgia, mona lisa reflects on and captures the doubts that can follow the demise of a relationship, brought to life by ioakim's shimmering vocals.
“mona lisa explores themes of a crowded conscious, confusion and relationships. It was written at a time last year where everything in the word felt a little uncertain. Personally I felt lost, overwhelmed and like I wanted to start over again after reflecting on the ending of a relationship.” the musician shares of his latest offering.
