Australian artist Rya Park recently unveiled her anthemic new track, Generational. If you’re loving the track hanging to see the visual, watch the songs music video right here on MILKY before its release!
Produced by Sam Phay, the singers beguiling vocals float above driving percussion from The Temper Trap’s Toby Dundas and captivating sonics. The track conceptually navigates life in your twenties, laced with relatable lyricism that captures the anxieties and pressures placed upon young adults and the longing to feel liberated and free to be who we really are. We observe the singer and her friends throughout the monochromatic visual, that builds to an eruption of vibrant colour.
“I was a very self-conscious and insecure teenager and up until recently I could only socialise and be myself while partying. It’s only in the last year that I’ve truly realised how that actually affects me day to day. It was a vicious cycle of feeling depressed and anxious, drinking to ease the pain and then the hangover would be followed by horrendous week of low mood.” Park shares of the release.
Across her releases, Park shines a light on themes centred around mental health, sharing her own experiences and reflections. As she gears up to release her debut EP later this year, the singer has teased more new music and live shows to come, with Generational serving as the latest in a string of singles following NYE and SAD.
