Brisbane trio TYDE have returned with their new single, Headfirst.

Opening with dulcet guitar melodies beneath front woman Ella Belfanti's soulful vocals, the optimistic track introduces a bubbling bass line and captivating horn work that together create a dynamic and groove-laden soundscape. Produced and mixed by TYDE's guitarist, Lucas Montgomery, the track is all about leaving behind thoughts of self-doubt and instead backing yourself no matter what life throws at you.

“I wrote Headfirst when I was going through self-doubt about making it in music, and about whether I was good enough, normal enough and likeable enough. Headfirst is an attempt to rewrite my internal monologue and self-talk. To say ‘yeah this is hard, and maybe I am a bit peculiar, but I can do this and I’ll find like-minded people if I put myself out there’. The song started with the little riff after the chorus - I was playing it in my room on my guitar and it made me feel optimistic and hopeful.” front woman Ella Belfanti shares.

Headfirst is out now!
