Brisbane/Meanjin alt-rockers The Dandys have shared their new single, Take You Home. The track serves as the latest taste of music from the newcomers, following Good Life and Lemons.

Set atop bubbling bass lines and atmospheric sonics, vocalist Mads Protheroe's luring vocals simmer whilst exploring the thrill of the chase. Inspired by true crime podcasts, the track juxtaposes obsession and lust and explores the two as a symbiotic relationship. Take You Home continues to introduce us to the bands alt-rock sonics, with threads of glistening pop and grunge woven throughout.

"At the time, I had been listening to a lot of serial killer podcasts and I decided it would be an interesting approach to write from the perspective of one and try and get out of my head all the time and in theirs a little bit. It was a really different way from how my lyrics usually come about, but it's basically a song about a one-night stand, from the perspective of a serial killer. Instead of picking up a date, he's picking up a victim." Protheroe shares.

To celebrate the release, The Dandys will return to the stage later this month for an exclusive single launch show. Taking place at Black Bear Lodge on August 26, the trio will be joined by Square and SAMMM., with Flamingo Blonde closing out the evening with a DJ set.
