LA-based singer and actor Skylar Astin is bringing the groove on his new single, When You're Not There. Produced by his collaborator Eric Lam, the track follows up the musicians debut single, Without You.
Laced with catchy melodies and bright sonics, the track is built upon a lively beat, creating a feel-good vibe as he declares his commitment to his partner, fearful of the empty feeling that could arise when spending time apart. When You're Not There brings the penchant qualities of the musicians experiences on Broadway, recontextualised into a pop soundscape.
“Making this music made me feel lighter during a time that was pretty dark around the world,” Astin shares. “If I can make other people feel lighter and bring some positivity & good vibes when they listen, my job is done.”
Known for his roles in Pitch Perfect and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Astin spent last year working on original music, honing in on the infectious and euphoric sounds presented on his releases.
