Melbourne alt-rockers Square Dance Caller are gearing up to drop their new single, Somebody Like You. If you can't wait to give the track a spin, you can listen to the song right here on MILKY!

Serving as the first taste of their forthcoming EP, Daze In Technicolor, the track captures that feeling of admiring another's energy, be that lust-fuelled or platonic admiration. Driven by catchy melodies and hip-hop sampled drum loops, the band weave in threads of rock with crunchy guitar lines, building to a magnetic solo. Frontman Brendan Etherington's mesmerising vocal performance breathes life into sentimental lyricism, and will have you singing along in no time.

"I wrote this song in 2020 during Melbourne's second lockdown. Stuck in my room, I'd been mucking around with drum loops and came across a cool beat that I liked. It started with the bass riff and grew from there." Etherington shares.

"I think we have all had somebody in our lives either romantically, or platonically, who's a bit older or more mature and who seems so cool and confident. We either lusted after them or wished we had them in our corner teaching us all their moves."
