Sydney songwriter and producer Jerome Blazé is set to release his new single, Colour Of The Water, this Friday! If you’re like us and can’t wait, listen to the track right here on MILKY before its release!

Making his vocal debut on the track, Blazé is showing listeners another side of his musical skills on the delicate track. Having produced and mixed the song himself, the added layer of Blazé's own vocals and evocative lyricism elevate the release to a new level, floating above rich instrumentation that continues his exploration of folktronica. Conceptually, Colour Of The Water tells the story of a trek across New Zealand and offers a new perspective on a relationship.

Speaking of the decision to step behind the microphone, Blazé shares: "There’s always this sort of creative re-evaluation period after you finish a project. After Open, A Home, singing felt like the next logical step towards being more free and genuine with my music. Colour of the Water is one of the first songs that came out of experimenting with my voice. It uses experience I had trekking over Lake Tekapo in New Zealand as a metaphor for seeing a relationship from a distance. The tides of two lakes represent two lovers - 'We’re blue and green in a crescent hold’ . I ended up asking my friend Ivy-Jane Browne to sing the second verse, and song became a sort of duet."
