French-Swiss Senegalese singer-songwriter Madjo has unveiled her new single, Women. The track is set to appear on the singers forthcoming body of work, Rebellion.

Inspired by short collection of essays, Letter to My Daughter, the track is a celebration and ode to the legacy of women. Vivid lyricism captures the formidable strength, integrity and bold nature of their experiences throughout history and their impact on society and nature. Madjo's inimitable performance captures the songs dynamic breadth, accompanied by euphoric backing vocals atop a steady beat within a mesmerising soundscape.

"The song was originally inspired by Maya Angelou’s ‘Letter to My Daughter’, and came from a deep desire to speak about women, their lineages, differences, and legacies." the singer shares of the tracks thematic exploration. The release arrives alongside an official visual, directed by Mai Hua, which captures a group of women immersed in nature, uniting together unbridled joy.

Having made her debut in 2010 with her debut album Trapdoor, Madjo has spent the past decade experimenting with her sound and pushing the boundaries of pop music. Her releases, including her 2015 sophomore effort Invisible World, effortlessly weave together threads of indie-rock, soul, folk, and electronic sonics to create contemporary multi-genre soundscapes. The singers third body of work, Rebellion, is set to arrive next year.
