Watch out interview with Kinder!
Ghanaian-Australian sister duo Kinder have returned with their new single, Keep Up. The track is set to appear on the duos forthcoming EP, Akwaaba, set to arrive next month.
The dance ready track opens with droning vocals, preaching "Don't come on back if you're not here for a long time. Don't come on back if you're not here with a good vibe", setting the tone for the fun-filled three and a half minutes that is to follow. Dynamic production unfurls beneath the sisters captivating vocals, with Keep Up sure to make it on your summer dance soundtrack.
“When we made Keep Up, it was the first time we had worked, in real life, face to face with people since the lockdown. We made the record at Jono Ma’s studio in Byron Bay along with Jonti Danilewitz. They jammed out on their analogue synths whilst we came up with melodies. There were two ideas, we thought it was two different songs, so we came up with two very different melodies, but then they somehow we magically pieced both sections together. These very contrasting verses and chorus ideas somehow blended together and it just worked. The process was very improvisational.” the duo share.
Kinder will return to the stage for a string of festival performances and headline shows. The duo are set to appear at Summer Camp Festival in Sydney and Melbourne, MELT Festival in Brisbane and VANFEST in Bathurst. Perth fans can catch the sisters at Ice Cream Factory in December, before they head to Hobart in January.
