Sydney based indie-pop artist Jodi has shared her infectious new track, bl!nk, written in collaboration with Sydney drummer and producer, Alistair Hayes. The musical project of Jodi Cohen, the song serves as the first of two single releases this year from the singer.
The powerful track is the perfect middle finger to that pesky ex who just can't keep away, that one who you could take back in the blink of an eye, but you really shouldn't. Bringing witty and relatable lyricism to the table, the singers latest triumphant track was written in just three days, with Hayes' effortlessly sublime production playing out beneath Cohen's bewitching vocals.
Speaking of the track, the singer shares: “The storyline is as follows: girl wakes up to a drunk text from her ex, hence the first line “you really f*cked things up for me, when you texted me last week”. Need to stick it to your ex? Play them this song."
There's a quality to Cohen's voice that is commanding, but in a warm and inviting way, as if she's that friend that you'll always listen to because you know she'll cut the BS and tell it ti you straight. bl!nk is the latest taste of emerging Aussie talent at its finest.
