Watch our interview with Forest Claudette below!
Melbourne-based alt pop artist Forest Claudette has treated us with his debut EP, The Year of February. We caught up with the musician to chat about the collection of songs, his artistry and so much more!
Across the EP, Claudette leans deeper into his dynamic fusion of RNB, pop, hip-hip and rap, creating dynamic soundscapes that meanders between textural sonics and atmospheric production that works in contrast to the conceptual exploration of each track to create an engaging listening experience. The overall sonic palette of the release ebbs and flows between brighter moments and beguiling motifs that capture your attention and showcase Claudette's songwriting prowess.
The Year of February serves as a documentation of a period of time within the musicians life, exploring newfound love and harrowing heartbreak, as well as his own relationship with his art and his driving creative force. Laced with moments of intimacy and existential crisis, Claudette vividly captures the themes explored through vivid and descriptive lyricism, brought to life by his booming low vocals, soaring falsetto and effortless flow.
