Last week, Chris Lanzon released his latest single, New York, Falling Apart. We sat down with the musician to talk about the new track, his upcoming debut headline show and so much more!
New York, Falling Apart is the second release from the singers upcoming sophomore EP, due out next year. The track conceptually centers around a story idealising a city that isn’t one’s home, working as a metaphor to the desperation of salvaging a broken relationship. Whilst travelling through America, Lanzon met LA-based musician Franco Reid. The pair co-wrote the song over Skype during the COVID-19 pandemic this year. The track was recorded, produced and mixed by Lanzon in his bedroom studio, where he has created all of his previous releases. Fusing together threads of shoegaze rock and indie pop with electronic production, New York, Falling Apart marks the musicians most amitious release.
Lanzon, a former member of Australian boy band In Stereo, began his musical journey at a young age, competing in national televised singing competitions. After extensive touring with the group, Lanzon wanted to focus on his own projects. Self-releasing all of his music, Lanzon has amassed over 550k streams across platforms and has built up his fanbase as a solo artist.
