Brisbane musician Hope D is back with a fresh new single, Happy Hangover.

Co-written with G Flip, the conversational track sums up those inner thoughts and memories of late nights, blazing atop infectious beats and production. Alongside the release comes the announcement of Queensland tour, with three shows scheduled across the singers home state.

“The song is about fully tripping out and having experiences that will later become nostalgic. The lyrics aren't meant to make too much sense, just like the conversations you have when you aren't really on earth on a night like that. Yet they always come back to questioning “if this is really happening?”, because you're having a great time. For me, the memories around that night are one that will always be very highly rated In my lifetime, so I am so stoked that we were able to make the memories into a really fun song.” the singer shares of the track.

Happy Hangover is the first taste of new music since the release of Hope D's debut EP, Cash Only. The EP title takes its inspiration from Hope’s tattoo artist who had the words painted on her nails at her first post-covid appointment. It is also a metaphorical play on words, tipping its hat to a period of time where every store would only accept card payments.

Happy Hangover is out now! Listen to the release below.
