Australian electro-folk singer-songwriter and producer Hayden Calnin has shared his latest offering, a shimmering new singling, Lightning.
Full of lush harmonies, striking piano melodies and evocative lyricism, the track conceptually tackles navigating life, questioning our purpose and the ebbs and flow of life. Calnin's captivating vocal performance shines, accompanied by a mesmerising soundscape that is made complete with striking backing vocals.
Speaking of the release, Calnin shares: "My new song "Lightning," is a look at time and being bound to its flow," says Hayden. "We have a short time here on Earth and I’m often reflecting on what it means to be a part of it and what I should be doing with that time given. Am I where I should be? Why is there a should be at all? To sum up, this song is about grounding your feet, feeling your rhythm, and questioning yourself along the way. There’s no right way to do this and life can feel as sporadic as lightning."
No stranger to touring, Calnin has shared the stage with Matt Corby, Tom Odell, The Antlers and more. During this time, he also produced records for Australian artists including Didirri, Harrison Storm, Riley Pearce, Woodlock, NYCK, and others.
