HALLIE IS BACK WITH NEW SINGLE 'SYDNEY HATES ME'

Image: Madeline Randall

Hallie has made her return with her striking new single, Sydney Hates Me. The track was inspired by the musicians frustrations at continually having her performances in the city cancelled, due to a number of varying reasons. The release is accompanied by an official visual, co-directed by the singer and Zoe Hilditch.

Of the release, Hallie shares: “This song is exactly what you think it’s about — Sydney hating me! I had 3 shows booked at the very beginning of this year (2020); One I travelled from Brissy to play and it was rained out 20 minutes before, the next got cancelled a couple of days out, and the last one was a flight cancellation. COVID 19 topped it off because it was confirmed there was no way I could get into Sydney.

The song sparked for me after realising someone I had a little crush on who lived in Syd had a thing for me too and was going to come to my show (before it was cancelled). I was feeling hella excited about a bit of COVID online love, and also dramatic about the uncertainty of if I would ever see them in person. I think at one time or another, we all had those dramatic moments of longing and lust over someone or something during COVID 19. The question everyone was asking and still is; will I EVER get close to you?"

This Saturday 13 March, Hallie will be performing live on tiktok (@halliesontiktok) at 3pm AEST to play Sydney Hates Me and a handful of other songs. Tune in here.
