Swedish artist Boy Destroy dropped his debut single, Warpaint. Produced by We know nothing, Warpaint is the musicians first taste of his upcoming debut EP of the same name.

Combining emo sounds with alt-pop sensibilities over a trap soundscape, the raw and vulnerable song navigates the scars that we leave on each other, also examining the and the digital apathy of young lives. “‘Warpaint’ is the one that started this beautiful and terrifying journey. I’m using my wounds, my mistakes, my anger, my sorrow and my passion as armour.” the musician shared of the release. “I don’t feel like I need to hide anymore. Like a boxer, bleeding in the ring, the pain doesn’t bother me much. It’s the fuel for this machine.”

The release is accompanied by a visually stunning cinematic music video. Directed by Milkdrop Studio, the clip sees the singer placed within scenes that thematically and visually callback to the regal artworks of the renaissance period.

Of the larger body of work, Boy Destroy shared: “The 'Warpaint EP’ is a collection of stories from my sometimes troubled life. It’s about the boy destroyed. About the people that gave up on me as a consequence of my actions. Souls left unplugged and isolated from their emotions like islands. About the digital apathy of young lives.”

Warpaint is out now! Watch the music video below.
