Melbourne-based, Australian-Indian artist ASHWARYA has returned with her magnetic new single, Can't Relate. Produced by Stevan, the dynamic sees the singer meander between commanding vocals, spoken word verses and rap breaks, showcasing her versatility as a vocalist.

Can't Relate was a song that came out of nowhere, which is what I think adds to its unpredictability. I'd just finished touring with The Rubens, and Sam, the legend, invited Stevan and I to come down to his studio in Thirroul, NSW, for a couple days. It reached a point in the session where Steve and I were creating in pure chaotic, unhinged frequencies (in a good way), which manifested itself into this track." the singer shares of the track.

I think at the core of it, the track speaks to a lot of the frustrations and the inner monologue of wanting to just dissociate from people who infantilise you. With all the crazy shit going on right now in the world (the list is endless) and the added anxieties through social media and the news, it's got me questioning, ‘what the fuck is going on here?’ ‘Is this really happening?’ Hopefully, it resonates because I can't seem to relate to a whole lot going on, especially now.”

Having taken to the stage at festivals including Field Day and NYE on the Hill, as well as supporting Broods and Meg Mac, ASHWARYA will return to the stage at Brisbane's BIGSOUND on September 6 and September 9. The singer will then join Dua Lipa at Melbourne's Palais Theatre where she will support the global superstar in her only intimate Australian performance whilst touring the country on her Future Nostalgia tour. Fans can get their hands on tickets through an official ballot registration here!
